Last updated: October 24, 2026. These Terms of Service govern use of the website and services of Mara Media doing business as Denton County Connect (“we”, “us”, “our”).
Our SMS program sends texts from Mara Media / Denton County Connect to people who opt in. Messaging use cases include: responses to website and phone inquiries; follow-up about Flower Mound Spotlight and other Denton County Connect co-op postcard / sponsorship advertising; quotes, availability, and booking details; and customer-care updates related to those services. This is a business messaging program for advertising and customer communication, not emergency alerts.
You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP" to the phone number that messaged you (including (940) 315-7886). After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.

As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. You will receive recurring messages; message frequency varies. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Wireless carriers (including but not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and other participating carriers) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery of SMS is subject to effective transmission by your carrier and is not guaranteed.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use this website’s SMS opt-in and to consent to receive text messages from Mara Media / Denton County Connect. By opting in, you represent that you are 18 or older and the mobile number belongs to you or you are authorized to use it.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
